Bio
Associate Professor Wang Hong joined the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore in 1996. He is currently an associate professor and Director of Nanyang Nano Fabrication Centre (N2FC) in NTU. Prof Wang is also the co-recipient of the Defence Technology Prize (R&D category) in 2007 and Singapore’s National Day Award in 2022.
Prof Wang’s research has covered broad areas in micro/nanofabrication, electronic and photonic devices and circuits. His current research interests include nano-structured materials, devices, silicon photonics, and integrated photonics. Since 2016, Prof Wang and his research team have been actively working on the development of silicon photonic technologies for emerging applications such as hybrid tunable lasers and narrow linewidth lasers for communication, mid-IR Silicon Photonics for applications such as healthcare and environmental sensing.
In the Quantum Sensing Centre, Prof Wang Hong will be developing photonics integrated circuits technology that will be compactization of quantum sensors.
