Quantum Sensing Centre (QSC) Officially Launched on 30 May 2025!

A joint initiative by Ministry of Defence, Singapore (MINDEF) and the National Quantum Office, and implemented by DSO, the QSC will serve as a hub for global experts to advance quantum sensing technologies across five key focus areas.

While quantum sensing holds transformative potential, the path to real-world application is complex and deeply multidisciplinary.

At the opening ceremony, Mr. Melvyn Ong, Permanent Secretary (Defence Development), emphasised that no single entity can tackle these challenges alone. The QSC is designed as a physical nexus, bringing together talent from both local and global ecosystems to co-develop capabilities and mature critical components for quantum sensors.

More than just a facility, the QSC is a catalyst for collaboration and innovation at the frontiers of science. 🌍💡
